Over the past decade, Downtown Kemptville has experienced significant growth and revival, becoming a focal point for art, culture, heritage, and natural waterfront amenities. Recognizing parking as a key factor for continued growth and welcoming visitors, the Municipality of North Grenville completed a Downtown Parking Study, as recommended by the Downtown Kemptville Community Action Plan (DKCAP, 2021).
The study assessed current and future parking conditions, incorporating feedback from residents and businesses. Council has prioritized eight recommendations from the study, with implementation currently underway and expected to be completed by 2026.
- Reserved Library Parking Spaces
- Repurpose Parking Spaces on Clothier Street
- Develop a Communications Plan
- Monitoring Plan
- Limited Overnight On-Street Winter Parking
- Active Transportation Improvements
- Accessible or Age-Friendly Parking Spaces
- Commercial Loading Zones on Prescott Street
Municipal staff are currently integrating these recommendations into departmental work plans to ensure effective implementation.
The map shows what is considered as North Grenville’s downtown area.
